Ten Reason to NOT Do Residency at Your Church

1 You’re not worried about where your next staff leader will come from.

2 You’re content with what you see coming out of Seminary and colleges.

3 The issue of preparing leaders, no matter where they go, just isn’t on your todo list.

4 They’ll either cut it and succeed where they land…or they won’t. Uber is always hiring.

5 Nobody did this for you and you made it just fine.

6 Your staff doesn’t have time to invest in the next generation.

7 Your staff all develop themselves just fine.

8 You gave at the office (the development fund office of your denomination’s seminary).

9 You need to have a meeting and talk about it, again, for the third year.

10 You keep asking the question…what’s a resident?
